Top Ways to Support Food Banks this Holiday Season
Here are the top ways you can support food banks like Food Bank of the Rockies throughout this season of gratitude.
Please note the following mobile pantry changes:
- Operation Freebird: Join us on November 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Mountain States Toyota (201 W. 70th Ave., Denver) for the 20th Annual Operation Freebird, a partnership with Adams County Sheriff’s Office. While supplies last, each household attending will receive a food box containing Thanksgiving foods. The event will also offer no-cost dental screenings, flu shots, mental health resources, veteran services, assistance with housing and food, and more.
- The Franktown Seventh Day Adventist Mobile Pantry has been rescheduled from November 8 to November 22.
- The Risen Christ Catholic Parish MP distribution on November 28 has been canceled.
- The next Summit Stage Bus Barn MP distribution has been rescheduled to November 21.
- The next HCA HealthONE Mountain Ridge MP distribution has been rescheduled to November 22.
- The Rifle and Glenwood Mobile Pantries are cancelled for 11/30 due to the holiday.
- The Clifton Christian Church Mobile Pantry has been rescheduled to the 3rd Saturday for November and December.
The mission of Food Bank of the Rockies is to ignite the power of community to nourish people facing hunger.
We provide food and necessities to people in need through signature programs and by teaming up with hundreds of Hunger Relief Partners to serve communities across Colorado and Wyoming, the largest food bank coverage area in the contiguous United States. We believe that for a community to thrive, every member must have the resources they need to flourish, and we strive to provide equitable access to proper nourishment for all.

Programs
From direct services like mobile pantries to teaming up with more than 800 partner organizations across Colorado and Wyoming, we deliver the food and necessities people need through a variety of community-powered programs.
Mobile Pantries
We identify areas where more food assistance is needed and distribute fresh and durable food items and necessities directly to the community through onsite, volunteer-staffed events. Learn more about Mobile Pantries.
Food for Kids
We operate a number of children’s programs, including afterschool and summer food options and Totes of Hope™, which provides kids in school with nutritious food over the weekend. Learn more about Food for Kids programs.
Everyday Eats
Through the USDA Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), we provide monthly, nutritious food boxes to low-income individuals at least 60 years of age. Learn more about Everyday Eats.
Hunger Relief Partners
We procure and distribute food and essentials to more than 800 partners in Colorado and Wyoming, who then support their communities directly. Learn more about Hunger Relief Partners.
