Tyson Foods and King Soopers Team Up to Fight Hunger in Denver

We knew it would be a good day at Food Bank of the Rockies when the Tyson truck pulled up and donated 29,000 pounds of premium chicken courtesy of Tyson Foods and King Soopers!

“We are so grateful to Tyson Foods and King Soopers for their long history of helping Food Bank of the Rockies and our partner agencies fight hunger in our community. This donation comes at a time when 1 in 8 people in Colorado struggle to meet their daily food needs. It is greatly needed and truly appreciated!” said Kevin Seggelke, President and CEO of Food Bank of the Rockies.

“Now, more than ever, food banks are stretched and stressed. People who have never been in need before have been hurt by the difficult economy and they are struggling to meet their families’ basic food needs. Together with Food Bank of the Rockies, and Tyson we will continue to support their mission in Fighting Hunger and Feeding Hope.” said Russ Dispense, President of King Soopers.

Tyson Foods has been an active participant in the fight against hunger for a decade, donating more than 78 million pounds of protein, or the equivalent of 300 million meals. The company’s current “KNOW Hunger” campaign is focused on helping more people understand and join the effort to eliminate hunger in America.
