Our friends at Tyson and Lift Up America have made it their mission to provide nourishment for people in need across our nation. We’re grateful to be included in their annual donation events! These events are definitely a community effort. Adding to the spirit of the holidays, representatives from many philanthropic Denver groups met at Pepsi Center on December 13 for a festive afternoon of giving.
We were joined by folks from Tyson Foods, Inc., Lift Up America, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, Denver Nuggets dancers, Rocky the mascot, Nuggets ambassadors, Mark Randall, Walter Davis and Ervin Johson, Colorado Ave’s assistant coach, Tim Army and mascot Bernie, Colorado Rapids players, Chris Sharpe, Marvell Wynne and mascot Edson, Southern Hospitality, Colorado Mammoth head coach, Bob Hamlet and Altitude Sports & Entertainment’s Brian Engblom, Marc Moser, Julie Browman, Kyle Keefe and Todd Romero. What a group! We had plenty of volunteer hands to help load chicken into the vehicles of 50 hunger relief agencies. As they pulled up they were promptly loaded to the brim with much needed protein for the clients they serve. Right in time for the holidays!
Over the past five years, FBR been able to distribute an astounding 170,000 pounds of chicken to agency partners through Tyson, Lift Up America and Kroenke. We look forward to this event each year and appreciate the opportunity to be a recipient of a community effort that fights hunger in such a significant way!
