Five years ago, Mike Kosman and his family decided to share some of their land, resources and expertise to grow corn for the hungry. While we all still mourn the untimely loss of Mike, we are grateful he taught his family well and they continue the tradition, preserving his legacy to help others. The 5th Annual Food Bank of the Rockies Sweet Corn Charity Event was again tremendously successful.
More than 140 volunteers picked and filled 1,000 mesh bags with fresh sweet corn. And they did it, including helping to load our truck and in about three hours!
Thanks go out to all the generous people who donated time, land, supplies and seeds to grow 85,000 ears of corn for our hungry neighbors.
