Food Bank of the Rockies Honored as 2024 Large Nonprofit of the Year by Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce

We are thrilled to share that the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce is honoring Food Bank of the Rockies as the 2024 Large Nonprofit of the Year. This award underscores our commitment to fostering a strong organizational culture, maintaining financial viability and success, and making a significant impact in our community. We are delighted to have been co-finalists with our fantastic Hunger Relief Partners, Project Angel Heart and Warren Village, and we are excited that our partner, Denver Food Rescue, was honored with the Small Nonprofit of the Year award. We could not do our work without partners like them!

In a region abounding with nonprofits doing critical work, this award is truly a testament to the power of community. We are answering the challenge of hunger across our communities — TOGETHER. Supporters, volunteers, staff, board members, and our amazing network of over 800 Hunger Relief Partners make it possible to deliver on our mission every single day. And our work has never been more critical.

We’re reminded of why we’re here every time we:

  • Meet a parent who needs food for their family while paying their ever-increasing rent
  • Greet an older adult picking up fresh vegetables to supplement what they can purchase on a fixed income
  • Welcome a community member juggling an unexpected illness while needing nutritious food

Every person and story is unique, but the need for fresh, familiar, and nutritious food is universal. We’re seeing 83% more people attending our mobile pantries across our region when compared to the same period last year, and many of our Hunger Relief Partners report seeing up to three-times more people visiting their food pantries.

Amidst these challenges, we are inspired by our communities collectively meeting this moment with fortitude and compassion. We share this honor with each of you. Your inspired support continues to fuel our work and ignite the power of community to nourish people facing hunger.
