Each year, we present the Betty Van Hook Memorial Award to one of Food Bank of the Rockies’ outstanding volunteers who embodies Betty’s zeal, passion and commitment to our mission. Congratulations to our 2018 award winner, Bob Kelly!
Bob started volunteering at FBR ten years ago to make an impact on hungry kids and their families. You’ll find Bob helping out with Totes of Hope® and other kids programs in our Nutrition Network on Tuesdays and Fridays.
“I enjoy helping others,” Bob tells us. “It keeps me out of trouble!” Bob also shares that he’s made wonderful lifelong friends by helping out at the food bank. “My team (Janet, Amber, Phil, Zach and Jim) is the best!”
We’re so grateful for Bob’s service to our mission and proud to present him with this award. As of this writing, we can count the hours he’s shared with us the past ten years – nearly 1,600 – and because of his gift of time, countless families have food on their tables. Thank you Bob for all you do to help us fight hunger and feed hope!
