Food Bank of the Rockies Hires Erin Pulling as President and CEO

Food Bank of the Rockies is excited to announce Erin Pulling will join the organization January 14, 2019 as President and CEO. Pulling brings two decades of deep understanding around the complex issues of hunger and food insecurity from her work in the nonprofit food and nutrition field.  Her passion for community engagement and core belief that volunteers, donors and community partners are key to nonprofits’ success will be an asset to continuing the mission of the food bank.

“I’m thrilled and humbled to lead Food Bank of the Rockies’ team,” Pulling says.  “Access to food and nutrition should be a basic human right. In my career, I’ve worked on food access via medically tailored meals for people living with critical illnesses, studied the impact of food on health, and promoted the integration of food and nutrition into health care. I’m looking forward to tackling the complex issues around hunger and food insecurity in Colorado and Wyoming and am excited to partner with the board, staff, and community to set the course for Food Bank of the Rockies’ future.”

Doug Wilhelm, Food Bank of the Rockies’ Board Chair shares, “The food bank has been nourishing families for forty years. The organization has experienced year over year growth and last year, provided more than 145,000 meals a day to hungry men, women and children in our community. After a thorough and thoughtful nationwide search, we’re pleased to bring Erin to the team and are confident she’ll be a strong leader for the future. We look forward to working with her to build on our strong history and reputation as we continue finding new ways to solve hunger in our community.”

Pulling’s community engagement includes board service with the Colorado Nonprofit Association and advisory board membership with the national Food is Medicine Coalition. Erin was awarded a Livingston Fellowship by the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation, was named a Forty Under 40 by the Denver Business Journal, and is a Leadership Denver graduate. For the last 14 years, Pulling has served as President & CEO of Project Angel Heart and has served in various other positions at the organization for the past 24 years.

Erin graduated from Santa Clara University with a B.S. in psychology and holds a Master of Nonprofit Management from Regis University.
